Breckenridge, Colorado - Battle
of the Bands
Broken Laces competed at the Battle of the Bands at
Riverwalk in Breckenridge, Colorado on Friday June 1st. The
competition consisted of 8 bands of which most were high school
age. The venue was awesome - an outdoor amphitheater with a tent
over it and seating for about 500 people. The stage was beautiful,
with professional lighting and sound system. The band members were
nervous and excited for the competition. They performed last and
were well received by the crowd. They had a little trouble hearing
each other at first and had to adjust to the uncharted environment.
As they adjusted they began to get into their familiar comfortable
groove and had a blast. The crowd in front of the stage was small
at first but as the band played through their 10 minute set, more
gathered in front of the band dancing and singing along. There was
even a crowd surfer.
After the judges tallied their votes, the Broken Laces
band was announced as the second place winners, just 1 point behind the
winners. The band had a great time and enjoyed
watching all the bands at the competition. After the competition
they went out for a bite to eat and ran into many fans who had nothing
but compliments about their performance. Thank you to all the fans
for all your kind words.

| Here is a home made video of their performance taken
with our personal video camera. The camera was at the back
of the venue so the sound is not as good as we would like.
